Mexico
Although Mexico shares the North American
part of the continent, its heritage is more properly part of Central and
South America to the south. As the land of great Native American
civilizations,
and Spain's wealthiest colony in the
Americas, Mexico offers a fascinating architectural and artistic richness.
And as a modern nation, its distinctive culture, involving an enchanting
blend of Native American and Spanish music, dance, cuisine, handicrafts and
arts, is unparalleled.
Much of Mexico comes as a delightful surprise to the first-time
visitor—especially the friendliness of its people, the richness of its art,
its cuisine, the
excellence of its accommodations, and its reasonable prices. Travel becomes
easier each year as Mexico opens new roads to formerly isolated villages,
and builds modern airports where thatched-roof structures once stood.
Because the country is so large and so completely different from any
English-speaking nation, that it pays to do some research before you go.
You'll be rewarded if you learn a few simple phrases in Spanish, such as
gracias ("thank you"), de nada ("you are welcome"), or disculpe ("excuse
me"). A little understanding of the country's ancient and modern cultures
will go a long way toward helping you comprehend the people and their
customs. Excursion tours package airfare hotel groups discounts. |

Brazil
Brazil can be divided into four major geographic regions. The long, narrow
Atlantic seaboard has coastal ranges between the Rio Grande do Sul and Bahia,
but is flatter north of Bahia. The large highlands - called the Planalto
Brasileiro, or central plateau - which extend over most of Brazil's interior
south of the Amazon Basin are punctuated by several small mountain ranges
and sliced by several large rivers. There are also two great depressions:
the Parana-Paragui basin in the south, which is characterized by open
forest, low woods and scrubland; and the huge, densely forested Amazon basin
in the north. The Amazon, 6275km (3890mi) long, is the world's largest
river, and the Amazon forest contains 30% of the world's remaining forest. Excursion
